A car vacuum cleaner can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. If you have ever used a cheap car vacuum, then you know exactly what I’m talking about. When you try to vacuum your car, it clogs up, doesn’t have enough suction, and overheats and shuts off. It is extremely frustrating and one of the reasons I finally invested in a high end vacuum for my car.
If you are tired of dealing with the exact scenario above, then I have a few suggestions for you below. All of these car vacs received high praise and top end reviews from consumers. If you are looking for a vac that actually gets the job done, these are my recommendations:
Metro Vacuum Vac N’Blo Car Vacuum – this is one powerful little puppy. It has a whopping 4hp of suction power, which is guaranteed to suck up even that piece of gum that has been on your car floor for the last three months. It comes with a number of extensions to help clean upholstery and get into those little crevices.
Powerworks 12 V Wet/Dry Auto Vacuum – if you are looking for something a little more cost effective, this may be your car vac of choice. It can be plugged directly into your lighter outlet and it can easily clean up any mess with its wide array of attachments.
Oreck XLAuot Car Vacuum – this has constantly been rated the #1 car vac for years, and since it is made by Oreck, is it any surprise? This is one powerful handheld vac, and it even has a headlight to help you see in those dark little spaces (or maybe you don’t want to see what’s there!)
All of the Vacs above are very powerful and won’t leave you frustrated and fed up. They are all durable and built to last as well, so you don’t have to worry about buying a new one in a year or two.
Black hubcaps are a fast and simple ways to hop up the looks of any vehicle. Black goes with almost any shade, from purple to green and back down the colors of the rainbow. Of course there are some hubcaps that are too ugly for any car, no matter the color. Which is why you want to look for sleek designs and stay away from the generic ones.
Earning each dime isn’t easy, so most people don’t want to spend a great deal of money on their hubcaps, which I can fully understand. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t find a smoking pair for a decent price. Which is why I have recommended a few black hubcaps below that will amplify the looks of any vehicle:
Pilot WH522 Black Chrome Hubcaps – these hubcaps have a rugged and aggressive look to them. They will fit almost any vehicle that has a 16 in tire. They are made from hard plastic and will obviously never rust. I have seen them in stores from anywhere between $30-25.
Kai Tai Black Hubcaps – these have a sleek and stylish design as well. They have a universal fit and will fit any standard tire size (they come in all standard sizes). They tend to look better on foreign autos such as Nissans and Toyotas, but I feel they would look pretty classy on any US made vehicles as well.
Pilot WH521 All Black Hubcaps – this is a step up from Pilot’s other model above. They have more spokes which give them a more classic look. They will look good on a vehicle such as a Cadillac, more so than on a sports car. You can usually find these for right around $40 or so.
The black hubcaps above all come in under $50 for a set of 4 and easily enhance the looks of your vehicle well beyond such a paltry value.
Finding cheap hubcaps either online or offline is all about knowing what you want and how much you are willing to spend to get it. Nothing looks worse than a vehicle without hubcaps. It looks like someone gave the vehicle a fat lip or a black eye. Plus many hubcaps can be found on the cheap, so there is no excuse not to have a half decent set on your ride.
Some of the best places to find cheap hub caps is at the junkyard. I have found a number of great deals and the more sets you buy, the more you can save. Be sure to always look over the hubcaps and make sure there isn’t any signs of oxidation and rust. However, if there is only a light coating of rust, it can easily be taken off with some lamb’s wool.
Another great place to find hubcaps is at part swaps. In fact, they are usually one of the most popular items and you would be surprised at the amount of deals you can find. Most cities have annual or bi-annual part swaps, so check your local papers or do a search online to fine one close to you.
If you have a Pennysaver or Thrifty nickel, check though the classifieds to find some killer deals. Many times people just want to get rid of their hubcaps and will sell them to you for pennies on the dollar. You can also find similar deals on such places as Craigslist.
If you look online you will find a number of dealers selling cheap hubcaps, and this is a great way to do some comparison shopping. In the end though, most hubcaps won’t set you back more than $30-50 and it really isn’t that hard to find a decent set that looks good.
Auto mud flaps are like stage hands that do a lot of work behind the scenes, but really aren’t appreciated by most people. They aren’t really noticed unless they are customized or one of them is falling off your vehicle. Mud flaps are an important part of protecting your car and shielding it from flying debris on the road and the elements such as snow and rain.
However, many people love to skimp when buying mud flaps or they simply don’t know what to buy. So they usually end up getting a set of cheap ones that either fall off after a week or that do a terrible job of protecting your vehicle.
Most mud flaps either come in a straight rectangular shape (universal mud flaps) or they can be contoured to fit the exact shape of your vehicle (custom). A universal mud flap is going to be less expensive, but the fit and look may not be suitable for your vehicle. Buying the custom flaps is usually the best way to go, but this decision will vary from individual to individual.
There are several various types of materials mud flaps can be made from; rubber, plastic, even steel and aluminum. If you own a suv or truck, you should consider the steel/aluminum flaps, as they offer more protection, but they are generally more expensive and can be difficult to attach to your vehicle.
If you own a car, then you should usually opt for the plastic or rubber flaps. Each material has its own pros and cons, depending on the quality of the material that was used. I would caution you not to buy cheap plastic flaps, as they offer very little protection and can fly off at any time.
As I suggested earlier, getting custom fits mud flaps for the make and model of your car would be the ideal choice. If you insist on saving money, then a rubber universal set should be adequate.
Pink car mats really stand out in almost any vehicle. Usually you won’t notice a car mat, unless it is dirty or too big for the car. However, it is pretty hard to miss any car mats that are hot pink or any color of that nature. Of course that is why people buy them – so that they stand out.
Of course if they get dirty and grimy, then they stop looking cool and just look – disgusting! Which is why you want to find car mats that are durable and washable. You want to find ones that can stand up to everyday use and won’t end up looking like you threw it on the garage floor for a month or two. So with that in mind, I have found a few high quality pink car mats for you to consider:
Palm Tree Flip Flop Floor Mats (Plasticolor) – this is one of the coolest ideas I have seen in quite awhile. These pink mats are in the shape of flip flops and they have a universal fit, so they can be used inside almost any vehicle. Best of all they can be easily cleaned with just water and soap.
Lady Skull Mats by BDK – these car mats really stand our and will look hot in any car. They are the perfect blend of being girly and tough, all while protecting your car’s floor with their plush material. This is a must have for anyone who wants a unique look that no one else has.
Tinkerbell Front Floor Mat (Plasticolor) – if you have a friend or loved one who loves Tinkerbell, then this is the ideal gift. They are durable and easy to clean, while offering a custom look that will have people doing a double take!
